PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gene diagnostic kit for diseases caused by CCDC85C gene as a causative gene, hydrocephalus and retina denaturation. SOLUTION: The gene diagnostic kit for diseases caused by CCDC85C gene as a causative gene includes a primer or a probe for detecting variation of the CCDC85C gene. A method for investigating causes of the diseases, a method for investigating presence or absence of hereditary predisposition of the disease and a research kit for the disease are also provided.
