<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup protection device capable of extracting maximum performance of each actuator even in the case of an optical pickup including a plurality of actuators different in heat resistance for a protection target component. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup protection device includes: an actuator control unit 12n for supplying current to a plurality of actuators 11n; a current calculation part 13n for calculating the current flowing to the actuator 11n and a calculation value inversely proportional to heat resistance between the actuator 11n and a protection target article 502; an addition part 17 for adding the calculation value calculated by the current calculation part 13n; and an abnormality determination part 18 for determining a current abnormality based on the addition value calculated by the addition part 17 and a predetermined threshold value, and limiting current to the actuator control unit 12n. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
