PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor, a pausing method, and a recovery method, wherein shift to a pause state and quick recovery from the pause state are enabled. SOLUTION: An image processor 100 includes: a notification means 130 for notifying application means 132, 134 being executed of pause in response to a shift request to the pause state; a memory management means 124 for evacuating information in one or more section where a main storage device is executable to a disk-type storage device 26 in response to the shift request to the pause state; a creation means 122 for creating a snap shot of the main storage device where an information amount due to the information evacuated to the disk-type storage device 26 is reduced in a storage area including an area provided by a non-volatile storage device 24; and a relay means for cutting power supply to the main storage device after the snap shot is created.
