PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to also analyze stress in a meridian direction in addition to the stress in a circumferential direction of a pontoon. SOLUTION: On vibration of a floating roof 5 accompanied with sloshing of a stored liquid 4 in a floating roof tank, variation displaying of the basic equation is performed, and a nonlinear ordinary differential equation by a mode expanding method is derived, and within a range wherein shrinkage in the radial direction of the floating roof 5 is not taken into consideration, the equation governing the coupled vibration of the sloshing of the stored liquid 4 and the floating roof 5 is obtained. In addition, when the shrinkage in the radial direction of a deck 6 by the vibration of the floating roof 5 is given only to a connection part with the deck 6 in the pontoon 7 as a forcible displacement, the change of the variation of strain energy generated by the displacement of the pontoon 7 is obtained as a nonlinear term. the equation in which the nonlinear term is added to the previously obtained equation governing the coupled vibration of the sloshing of the stored liquid 4 and the floating roof 5 within a range wherein the shrinkage in the radial direction of the floating roof 5 is not taken into consideration, is obtained, and by performing a response analysis by this equation, an ellipsoidal deformation stress of the pontoon 7 is obtained.
