PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marine vessel with a jet propulsion device which acquires a stable propulsive force during a reverse drive. SOLUTION: A water jet propulsion watercraft 1 includes: a hull; jet propulsion devices 3L, 3R; buckets 28L, 28R; an accelerator/shift lever 9; engines 13L, 13R; and engine ECUs 14L, 14R. The jet propulsion devices 3L, 3R are driven by the engines 13L, 13R to take in water around the hull through a suction port and eject the water toward the rear side of the hull. The buckets 28L, 28R can be displaced between a forward drive position and a reverse drive position. At the reverse drive position, the flow of the water ejected from the jet propulsion devices 3L, 3R are reversed toward the front side of the hull. The positions of the buckets 28L, 28R are set in accordance with the operation of the accelerator/shift lever 9. The engine ECUs 14L, 14R perform a reverse drive mode in which, when the buckets 28L, 28R are located at the reverse drive position, the engines 13L, 13R are operated within a predetermined speed range.
