BRAKING DEVICE WITH MOTOR-DRIVEN PARKING MECHANISM

A structure is realized which can release a parking brake by allowing a rotating shaft to rotate even when the rotating shaft cannot be disengaged from a rotation check shaft in the event of a failure of some component required to release the parking brake. The rotating shaft rotates to move back and forth a braking friction member to and from a braking rotating body. The rotation check shaft can be engaged with and disengaged from the rotating shaft and transfers rotational force from the rotating shaft when being engaged therewith. The parking brake is actuated by both rotating and checking engagement members (11a, 12a) being engaged with each other. In the event of a failure, the parking brake can be released by pulling out a check pin (75) and thus allowing the checking engagement member (12a) to rotate.
