Disclosed is a burner apparatus (S1) for combusting an air-fuel mixture comprising fuel and an oxidizing agent. The apparatus is provided with a partition member (8) that forms a partition in a manner such that an air-fuel mixture (Y) can pass through an ignition region (R2) for igniting the air-fuel mixture (Y) and a flame stabilization region (R3) for maintaining combustion of the air-fuel mixture (Y); the partition member (8) also adjusts the flow rate of the air-fuel mixture (Y) supplied by the ignition region (R2) to the flame stabilization region (R3). The partition member (8) is provided with a protruding portion (8a1) that protrudes out into an oxidizing agent flow passage (1), and which holds back a portion of the oxidizing agent flowing through the oxidizing agent flow passage (1) and guiding the same into an intake passage region (R1). Thus, the disclosed burner apparatus can stabilize the combustion state of an air-fuel mixture by supplying a sufficient amount of oxidizing agent to a combustion region, and also allows stable generation of high-temperature gas.
