<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a bright-black phenomenon or degradation in picture quality due to light emission for a touch sensor in a touch panel type display device. <P>SOLUTION: A light emission operation is carried out in a part of pixel circuits in the whole pixel circuits on a pixel array as a light emission operation of pixel circuits for light detection in a light receiving unit. Then a touch input on a display screen is detected on the basis of the light receiving information of each light receiving unit on the light emission operation. By performing light emission (sensing light emission) for a touch sensor function not in the whole pixels but in a part of pixels, and by varying pixel circuits for sensing light emission by frame, for example, a bright-black phenomenon or degradation in picture quality due to sensing light emission can be suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
