ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM

Disclosed is an electric power supply system which has: a common power supply which stores and supplies electricity between buildings via an area electric power grid which is laid in a prescribed area which includes a plurality of buildings provided with storage cells; a distributed power supply which is provided in at least some of the buildings in the area and which supplies electricity to the buildings, as well as supplying surplus electric power to the common power supply; a first electric power meter in each house which measures the amount of electric power supplied from a commercial power supply; a second electric power meter in each house which measures the amount of electric power taken and supplied in both directions between the house and the common power supply via the area electric power grid; and a distribution control device which distributes electric power from the common power supply to the area on the basis of the amount of electric power as measured by the first electric power meter and the second electric power meter. The distribution control device: manages the amount of electric power in each house so that the amount of electric power stored in the common power supply as measured by the second electric power meter and the amount of electric power supplied from the common power supply are offset; supplies electric power from the common power supply when the amount of electric power in any of the buildings as measured in a unit period by the first electric power meter reaches a prescribed value; and returns electric power to the common power supply when the amount of electric power in the building as measured in a unit period by the first electric power meter is a return value, which is a value lower than the prescribed value.
