The range on the small-diameter side of an output cone (36) from a predetermined position, which is distantly positioned from the position of the end part on the large-diameter side of the output cone (36) when torque is not acting on an output shaft (38) by a predetermined distance (L1) on the small-diameter side of the output cone (36), is stipulated as the slide range. A slide mechanism (62) is controlled in such a manner that a ring (60) slides within the slide range. As a consequence, it is possible to minimize the deformation of an input cone (34), and even if the input cone (34) deforms and the output cone (36) moves further to the small-diameter side, a phenomenon whereby part of a ring (60) protrudes from the output cone (36) is suppressed.
