The controlling device has multiple rolling stands which are arranged one after another. A storage unit is provided for storing the product specification data for a front component and a rear component of the material to be rolled. The front and rear components are welded together at a welding point. A receiving unit is formed for the operating conditions of the mill which receives data over the operating conditions of the rolling stand of the mill. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a controlling method for a tandem-cold rolling mill; and (2) a program for executing a controlling method.
