AUTOMATIC CORRECTION OF LOUDNESS LEVEL IN AUDIO SIGNALS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dynamically and automatically correct loudness level in audio signals in vehicles under different driving conditions. SOLUTION: A perceived loudness of an audio input signal is dynamically determined based on a psychoacoustic model of a human hearing. A gain of an audio output signal that is outputted by a gain determination unit for receiving the perceived loudness and outputting the audio output signal is dynamically determined. Ambient noise in the space where the audio output signal is outputted is estimated. How far the audio output is affected by the gain determining unit is determined based on the estimated ambient noise. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
