PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain optimization of physical arrangement of, particularly, a copy-source logic disk in the range of a physical area corresponding to the copy-source logic disk and a copy-destination logic disk. SOLUTION: A physical extent reassignment unit detects a set of a copy-source logic extent LEA0 and a copy-destination logic extent LEB0 which are already in a copy-completed state until logic disks 200A and 200B are shifted to a split state after data copy from the logic disk 200A to the logic disk 200B is started. The physical extent reassignment unit executes physical extent reassignment based on a predetermined condition to mutually replace physical extents PEXp and PEYs assigned respectively to the logic extents LEA0 and LEB0 of the detected set.
