The element (1) has a bellow (2), and a sealing (3') attached at the bellow to seal the filter element against two housing parts (4a, 4b). The sealing is formed as a paper sealing, and the bellow comprises a rectangular basic form. The sealing is projected over the bellow in a longitudinal direction and/or a transverse direction, and is partially covered in an edge region of the bellow. The sealing is formed as a folded sealing section of the bellow, where folding height of the sealing section is smaller than folding height of the bellow. The sealing consists of polyurethane foam or elastomer. An independent claim is also included for a filter arrangement comprising a filter element.
