<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-efficiency projector achieving a bright projection image. <P>SOLUTION: The projector includes: a first light source device 20 that emits first light (phosphor light 302) including first color light and second color light; a color sequential separation unit (color wheel 50) that color-separates the first light in a time division manner; a second light source device 120 that emits second light (blue light 304) including third color light; an optical unit (color synthesizing prism 62) that nearly aligns light beam-advancing directions of the first light and the second light which are color-separated; an optical modulator (DMD element 70) that modulates the first light and the second light whose light beam-advancing directions are nearly aligned with each other in accordance with image information; and a projection optical system (projection lens 80) that projects the modulated light as a projection image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
