PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve succeeding arc start characteristic by preventing slag from sticking to the bottom of molten ball formed at the tip of welding wire after the completion of welding, in consumable electrode type pulse arc welding. SOLUTION: In the pulse arc welding method, welding is performed by passing a peak current Ip higher than a critical value and a base current Ib lower than the critical value repeatedly. In the control method for the completion of the pulse arc welding, when current pass of the last peak current LIp is discriminated during finishing of welding, the last base current LIb predetermined in the range lower than the critical value is passed for the predetermined last base period LTb and then the welding is completed. The last base current LIb increases its current value following lapse of time within the last base period LTb. In conjunction with the increase of the current value, lifting force is acted to the molten ball and moves the slag from the bottom part to the side part of the ball. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
