PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive passenger conveyor having excellent assemblability by reliably mounting a guide shoe on a step at low cost. SOLUTION: The passenger conveyor includes a frame 6 installed on a building structure, platform floors provided on both ends in the longitudinal direction of the frame 6, a plurality of steps 2 connected in an endless manner and circulated between the platform floors, and a skirt guide 5 mounted on a frame 6 and arranged on both sides in the moving direction of the steps 2. Each step 2 has a system of coupling a cleat 11 with passengers being thereon, a bracket 13 mounted on its side end part, and a reinforcing plate 19 increasing the coupling strength of the cleat 11 with the bracket 13 via a coupling member, and a guide shoe 18A is attachably/detachably mounted on an end of the reinforcing plate 19.
