摘要 Disclosed is a lithium secondary battery which uses negative-pole active material particles containing silicon and/or a silicon alloy, wherein the lithium secondary battery suppresses breakage of a binder and separation at the boundary surface between the binder and a negative-pole active material and negative-pole collector during charging or discharging, and the lithium secondary battery has high energy density and good cyclic characteristics. The lithium secondary battery is provided with a negative pole, a positive pole, and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The negative pole includes a negative-pole active material layer and conductive metal foil constituting a negative-pole collector. The negative-pole active material layer is formed on the conductive metal foil. The negative-pole active material layer includes a binder and negative-pole active material particles containing silicon and/or a silicon alloy. The binder includes a polyimide resin having a crosslinked structure formed by imidization of polycarboxylic acid having a valency of 6 or more or an anhydride thereof and diamine.
