When a mobile station apparatus, which can use a plurality of frequency bands to connect with a base station apparatus, is to perform an uplink transmission, the mobile station apparatus selects an optimum one of combinations between the plurality of frequency bands and uplink transmission methods, thereby performing the uplink transmission. The mobile station apparatus, which is operative to group a plurality of cells together to connect to a base station apparatus and make a request to the base station apparatus for an uplink radio resource required to transmit uplink data, selects, based on a first condition, from among the plurality of cells, an uplink to make the radio resource request using a random access channel, and selects, based on a second condition, either the transmission of the radio resource request using the random access channel or the transmission of uplink data using an uplink radio resource common to another mobile station apparatus. |
