SOLUTION: A boring method for sampling a core for a geological survey in a core tube 2 by transmitting a rotational force and a downward driving force to a bit 2a attached to the tip of the core tube 2 includes supporting a rod 2b connected to the core tube 2 liftably in the axial direction and unmovably in a direction orthogonal to the axis, and then applying the rotational force to the rod 2b from the side face of the rod 2b and a load serving as the downward driving force, to the rod 2b in its axial direction.
