PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply a lead storage battery having a high-convenience handle of which the engagement end part of the handle does not come off from an locking tool of a battery case, even if a load is applied on the handle from above. SOLUTION: A handle connection structure includes the battery case in which the locking tool is installed at an outer face of opposing side walls; the handle in which the engagement end part is installed at both ends of a belt part; and the handle is connected to the battery case by mounting the locking tool and the engagement end part. A bent that is bent outward of the sidewall is installed at the handle, the wide-end part connected to the end of a leg part to have the belt part and a swollen head part is installed at the engagement part; and a pair of falling-off preventive piece which is protruded outward the sidewall and of which the ends are opposed, and a groove are installed at the engagement end part, by fitting the leg part into a space part surrounded by the falling-off preventive piece and the sidewall, by having the lower face of the swollen head part face the upper edge of the falling-off preventive piece, and by abutting the upper edge of the end part against the lower edge of the pair of the fall-off preventive pieces, the handle is fixed to the battery case, and by pressing the swollen head part inward of a width direction and pulling the handle downward, the handle is removed from the battery case.
