PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily exchange a magnetic head assembly with a projection formed for ramp loading of the magnetic head even if in a congested part around a head. SOLUTION: A rotation arm means for loading/unloading is mounted in a rotation arm holding means which performs movement to a retracting position. In loading/unloading, the other end of the rotation arm means is independently driven in a vertical direction by a driving means. In retracting a load bar means in a wide range, both the rotation arm means and rotation arm holding means are continuously driven in a straight line direction by the same driving means. Thus, an operation area is reduced by combining rotation operation of the rotation arm means, and straight line operation of the rotation arm holding means, and a highly precise magnetic head loading mechanism is provided.
