The device has a holder unit (Fb) i.e. conveying belt, comprising an opaque region completely surrounding a transparent region. The holder unit is arranged such that the transparent region is provided between an article (P) and a camera (1), where the article is held by the holder unit and moved by a conveyor (F). The camera generates the image by transparent region. The transparent region is completely filled with a pane or film, which are transparent and impervious for solid and powdery substances. An independent claim is also included for a method for generating an image of an article.
