The bearing has an inner ring (1) with a cone shaped inner rolling member raceway (7) and an outer approach board for rolling members (3) and an outer ring (2) with a cone shaped outer rolling member raceway (12). The rings and a rolling bearing cage (4) are coaxially arranged in a bearing axis (6). The cage is formed in conical shape, so that internal diameter and outer diameter increase from one axial end to other axial end. A side ring is formed in a region of the former axial end. Multiple bars freely extend from the side ring to the latter axial end. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a taper roller bearing.
