<p>A workpiece conveyance device formed by combining a path which conveys an automobile body, etc. with the front-rear direction thereof aligned with the direction of the path and a path which conveys the automobile body, etc. with the left-right direction thereof aligned with the direction of the path. A workpiece conveying travel body (1) comprises: a workpiece supporting carriage (2) which supports the longitudinal center portion of a workpiece (W) which is disposed in such a manner that the longitudinal direction thereof parallel to the travel direction; and two auxiliary carriages (3, 4) located below both longitudinal ends of the workpiece (W) so as to be adjacent to the workpiece supporting carriage (2) in front of and behind the carriage (2) in the travel direction thereof. The workpiece supporting carriage (2) is provided with a support means (5) for supporting the workpiece at a high position, the support means (5) being capable of being switched between an upstanding attitude in which the support means (5) supports the workpiece (W) at a high position and a folded attitude in which the support means (5) lies, under the workpiece (W), on the workpiece supporting carriage (2). The two auxiliary carriages (3, 4) are provided with support means (16, 17) for supporting the workpiece (W) at a low position, the support means (16, 17) separately supporting, under the workpiece (W), two front and rear places of the workpiece (W) in the longitudinal direction thereof at heights greater than the height of the support means (5) in the folded attitude.</p> |
