<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multirate burst mode receiver for allowing an OLT (Optical Line Termination) to receive a high-speed burst signal without the need for a special function at an ONU (Optical Network Unit) in a PON (Passive Optical Network) system where ONUs of different transmission bit rates are intermingled. <P>SOLUTION: The multirate burst mode receiver includes a signal input determination section, a bit rate determination section, an optical signal receiver, and a serial-parallel converter. The signal input determination section determines a signal input by detecting an average amplitude. The bit rate determination section detects an envelope curve for a high-frequency component to determine the bit rate of the signal. According to the result of determination by the bit rate determination section, the settings are switched at the optical signal receiver and the serial-parallel converter corresponding to the received bit rate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
