PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper mat manufactured by making a clamping member clamp a paper material obtained by rolling a paper sheet, twisting it, and stranding them. SOLUTION: The paper mat includes: at least the paper material; the clamping member clamping the paper material; and a flat area where the clamping member is expanded in a flat shape. The paper material is obtained by initially twisting a rod-like body formed by rolling a thin paper sheet from its end and further stranding them. The plurality of paper materials are bundled and clamped by the clamping member. The flat area is expanded flat so as to have a predetermined space between the plurality of clamping members clamping the paper material. The clamping members are fixed by a fixing member.
