PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door closing device which acts for completely closing a door when the door is slightly opened just before the door is completely closed, can maintain the door in a free state when the door is widely opened, and can contribute to reduction of manufacturing cost with a simple structure. SOLUTION: In the closing device of a sliding door, one of the door 11 and a door frame 12 is provided with a closing device body 2a and the other of them is provided with a temporary fixing means 25, the closing device body 2a is provided with an arm 21 rotatable in a range between an opened position O and a closed position C, an energizing means 23 for energizing the arm 21, and a buffer means 24 for decelerating the rotation of the arm 21, the temporary fixing means 25 is abutted to a fixed part 21b of the arm 21 and can hold the arm so as not to move in the rotation direction of the arm 21, and when the door 11 exists between the predetermined opened position and closed position, the fixed part 21b is held by the temporary fixing means 25 and the door 11 is closed.
