<p>A papermaking machine (10) for making uncreped through air dried paper having a forming section (20), a press section (30), and a drying section (50) is disclosed. The paper web is pressed between two press members (31,32) while enclosed between a press felt (33) and a transfer belt (35) having non-uniformly distributed microscopic depressions in its surface. The web follows the transfer belt (35) from the press to a transfer point at which the web is transferred via a suction transfer device (38) onto a structuring fabric (37). The web is then dried with a through air dryer (52).</p> |
