<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor capable of improving sealability. <P>SOLUTION: The gas sensor 1 includes: a detection element 2 for detecting gas components; a holder 4 having an insertion hole 4a through which the detection element 2 is inserted; a powdered seal material 12 to be filled in a seal material storage space 4g provided on an inner circumference of the insertion hole 4a; and a pressing member 13 arranged on a seal material loading port 4j side of the seal material storage space 4g and sealing between an outer circumference 2e of the detection element 2 and the holder 4 by compressing the seal material 12.
