PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for creation of an image display of an electronic postcard.

SOLUTION: The system for creation of an image display such as an electronic postcard (600) interacts with a user to create and configure the display. The user provides the image data to the system and optionally specifies a message and address (21) for the image display. The system creates the display, comprising the mixture of an image and text (textual data) (502), and sends a notification including identification of the display (identification of person concerned) to a specified address (21), for instance, the recipient of the postcard (600). The address (21) can then request receipt of the display from the system via identification information sent by the system.
