<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce pressure loss of a duct and improve cooling efficiency of an imaging unit in an image forming apparatus that supplies air to the image forming unit by use of a blowing fan and blowing duct. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: the image forming units 10(Y, M, C, and K); an optical scanner 9 disposed opposite this image forming unit with a space 23 between them; the blowing fan 30 for supplying air; the blowing duct 40 connected to this blowing fan, and used to send air from the blowing fan to an empty space between the image forming unit and the optical scanner. The blowing fan 30 is formed such that the internal face of its casing has a Venturi form. The blowing duct 40 is connected to an outlet, used for sending air from the blowing fan 30 to the gap, such that the shape of the internal surface of the duct 40 follows the shape of the Venturi. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
