<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for patterning a conductive layer, a method for manufacturing a polarizing element using the patterning method, and the polarizing element manufactured by the manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for patterning the conductive layer is provided, including (a) processing a resin layer using a stamper manufactured by a stereolithographic method, and then curing the resin layer to form groove parts and projecting parts patterned on the resin layer, (b) using the three-dimensional form of groove parts and projecting parts patterned on the resin layer to pattern and coat a conductive filling material on the resin layer, selectively only on part of the groove parts and projecting parts by an inclined sputtering method to form the conductive layer, and (c) forming a protective layer on the resin layer and the conductive layer.
