<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter which has excellent operability at the proximal portion of a sheath, reduces the occurrence of a kink at the proximal portion, and is capable of suppressing the generation of cracks. <P>SOLUTION: The catheter 1 comprises a sheath 2 to be inserted into a living body. The sheath 2 includes a tubular reinforcement layer 13 of at least one layer, which is formed with a spiral slit 14 continuous from the distal side to the proximal side. A termination end of the spiral slit 14 is provided on the proximal side of a slit proximal portion 18 which is the site of the proximal side of the spiral slit 14, and also a slit termination portion 19, in which the inclination angleαof the spiral slit 14 with respect to the circumferential direction of the reinforcement layer 13 is larger than that of the slit proximal portion 18, is formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
