PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable correction of the detection error of an intake air amount sensor caused by aging degradation so as to suppress a bad influence on a control system that is based on an actual measurement value of an intake air amount. SOLUTION: A target air amount and a target EGR ratio are obtained based on engine speed and a fuel injection amount (load), and a target supercharging pressure is obtained based on the target EGR ratio and an actual measurement value of the intake air amount that is measured by an intake air amount sensor 15. Next, the actual measurement value of the intake air amount is compared with the target air amount are compared as well as the target charging pressure with an actual measurement value of the supercharging pressure that is measured by a supercharging pressure sensor 16. When the actual measurement value of the intake air amount falls below the target air amount by over an allowable deviation and the actual measurement value of the supercharging pressure exceeds the target supercharging pressure by over an allowable deviation, aging degradation of the intake air amount sensor 15 is determined and the aging degradation is accordingly corrected so that the output value of the intake air amount sensor 15 approaches the target air amount.
