PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and program, properly specifying a region where a red eye phenomenon occurs. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus for specifying a red-eye pixel from a red eye candidate region including a red eye where a red eye phenomenon occurs in a color image has: a separation curve generating means for acquiring a red value and a red degree value as a feature amount from pixels in a skin region having a predetermined area in the proximity of each red eye in the red eye candidate region and generating a separation curve for separating a red eye pixel from the other pixels on the basis of the distribution of the red degree values corresponding to respective red values and having red degree values corresponding to the respective red value; and a red eye pixel specifying means for specifying a pixel as a red eye pixel if the red degree value of the pixel is larger than the red degree value corresponding to the red value of the pixel in the separation curve for the respective pixels in a target region where red eye pixel is specified.
