PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module that can implement signal transmission in a high-frequency wide band. SOLUTION: The optical module includes an optical module housing that incorporates an optical element 0115, a ceramic substrate 0102 with one side incorporated in the optical module housing and the other side exposed therefrom, and a printed circuit board 0104 connected to the ceramic substrate. In a printed circuit board end of the ceramic substrate and a ceramic substrate end of the printed circuit board, at least two conductor patterns for surface ground that constitute a coplanar line 0107 with back ground are formed outside a conductor pattern for signals and are connected to each other.
