The invention concerns monoclonal antibodies that are full-length IgG-isotype immunoglobulins and that are characterized by a high broad-range neutralizing activity against the influenza A virus and capable of recognizing a specific hemagglutinin epitope that is highly conserved among different influenza A virus subtypes. Further, therapeutic, prophylactic and diagnostic applications of the full-length IgGs of the invention are described.
