<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To employ configuration information set in a recording device connected to a control device even after replacement. <P>SOLUTION: A host computer 10 is connected to a printer 12 storing a configuration set 40. The computer includes a configuration information restoration unit 26 which stores the configuration set 40 acquired from the printer 12 as a backup configuration set 28, compares the stored backup configuration set 28 with the configuration set 40 stored in the printer 12, and updates the content of the configuration set 40, when the configuration sets are different from each other, with the content of the backup configuration set 28. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
