PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate compactor which uniformly and efficiently heats the whole rolling surface, which prevents an adverse influence on a heater, and reduces a load imposed on a structure by vibration and impact. SOLUTION: This plate compactor 10 includes: a drive engine 12; a generator 16; a vibration exciter 20; a rolling plate 24; the heater 40 for heating the rolling plate 24; a temperature detection means 44 for detecting a temperature of the rolling plate 24; a centrifugal clutch 22 which arbitrarily controls transmission of power to the vibration exciter 20 from the drive engine 12 with respect to the rotational speed of the drive engine 12; a control box 72 which is equipped with a control circuit for controlling electric power of the generator 16 so that the temperature of the rolling plate 24 is prevented from exceeding a predetermined temperature: a first planar vibration-proof member 42 which is disposed on the rolling plate 24 in such a manner as to cover the top surface of the heater 40; and a plurality of second vibration-proof members 54 which are disposed between a vibration section including the drive engine 12, the generator 16, etc. and a supporting structure 46 for supporting the drive engine 12, the generator 16, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
