PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail lighting device of a passenger conveyor settable on a narrow passenger conveyor saving space in the width direction, and evenly illuminating a footstep with reduced cost. SOLUTION: The handrail lighting device of the passenger conveyor is arranged on the passenger conveyor including: a handrail panel vertically provided on both sides of the footstep; a skirt guard positioned on both sides of the footstep and arranged by obtaining small clearance to the footstep; and an inner deck that covers from a lower end of the handrail panel to a such a position that the prescribed clearance remains in front of the upper end of the skirt guard, and illuminates through a translucent part arranged between the upper end of the skirt guard and the lower end of the inner deck. The handrail lighting device includes: a light source arranged at a lower part than the upper end of the skirt guard and emits light to the upper part; and a light reflection plate to reflect the light emitted from the light source toward the translucent part.
