PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar cutting system capable of reducing cost by dispensing with a sizing mechanism and a take-out mechanism through the use of functions of a loader and also capable of shortening time for replacing a stage to improve availability. SOLUTION: The bar cutting system includes a bar material feeding means 21 for feeding a bar material B supported by a bar material supporting means 11 in an axial direction, a cutter 23 for cutting a front edge part of the bar material B, and the loader 3 having a loader head 35 for receiving a workpiece W cut from the bar material B to carry it to a next process. A loader control means 42 is provided, which controls the loader 3 to stop the loader head 35 at a determined position on an extension of a shaft center of the bar material B. A feed and cutting control means 25 is provided, which controls the bar material feeding means 21 and the cutter 23 so that operation of the bar material feeding means 21 is suspended and the front edge part of the bar material B is cut by the cutter 23 when the front edge of the bar material B comes into contact with the loader head 35.
