PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To integrate an electric motor used for an electric power steering device with an ECU, so as to reduce size and weight, adapt to temperature environment, ensure reliability against electromagnetic noise interference, and, thereafter, reduce operating noise. SOLUTION: The electric power steering device includes: a steering column 3 with an incorporated steering shaft 2 where steering torque is transmitted; a torque sensor stored in a reducing gear box 4 so as to detect steering torque; and an electric motor 5 transmitting steering assist force to the steering shaft 2 via a speed reducing mechanism in the reducing gear box 4. The reducing gear box 4 is arranged with a control unit 19 made of a synthetic resin frame enclosing a power module circuit board and a control circuit board, and a synthetic resin cover 26 covering the synthetic resin frame.
