PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a large quantity of stimuli while lowering the peak electric current. SOLUTION: A voltage signal in a prescribed waveform is given in every prescribed cycle to a pair of electrodes D attached to the surface of a patient body K. The prescribed waveform is in a multi-stage waveform that increases the output voltage by stages. The multi-stage waveform can be, for instance, a double-stage waveform consisting of a pre-stage small waveform of a small output voltage V1 and a post-stage waveform of a large output voltage V2.
