PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: a method for laying glass wool (heat insulating material) on a roof bed is generally employed when heat insulation is conventionally applied to a roof (ceiling section) of a wooden dwelling etc.; the heat insulating material made of a synthetic resin foam is normally laid in a gap between adjacent horizontal muntins on the roof bed; a heat insulation effect is brought about by preventing diffusion of heat from the roof bed in winter; and efficiency of indoor air conditioning is increased by avoiding the high temperature of the roof and heat retention in an attic space in summer. SOLUTION: This heat insulating material-laid roof structure comprises a large number of muntins of the roof bed and the many horizontal muntins provided on the muntins; the heat insulating material is laid on the muntins; a tile is laid via the heat insulating material and the horizontal muntin; a space is provided between an eaves-side end surface of the heat insulating material and the horizontal muntin; a hook of the tile is inserted into the space, and locked to a ridge-side end surface of the horizontal muntin; and a head side of the ridge-side tile is laid on the tail side of the tile.
