PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid detergent for clothes, containing an assistant holding a functional component in a molecule of itself irrespective of the kind of surfactant, adsorbing to the clothes effectively and capable of imparting the functional components to the clothes after washing. SOLUTION: This liquid detergent is provided by including (A) a copolymer obtained from the 4 kinds of vinyl monomers consisting of a vinyl monomer, m1 having a tertiary amine structure in its side chain, a vinyl monomer, m2 having a lactam structure, a vinyl monomer, m3 having a 1 to 30C linear or branched carbon chain, alicyclic hydrocarbon, or aromatic hydrocarbon group at its side chain and a vinyl monomer, m4 having a 2-4C polyalkylene oxide group at its side chain, and obtained by constituting the amounts of 4 kinds of the monomers as, (m1) 10 to 70 mol%, (m2) 10 to 70 mol%, (m3) 1 to 30 mol% and (m4) 1 to 60 mol% range so as to become the total of 100 mol%, (B) a functional component, and (C) a surfactant.
