Scene information analyzed from viewable content is evaluated sequentially based on user preferences and when the degree of preference is higher for other content than for the content presently being viewed, a recommendation is made sequentially on a scene by scene basis. User preference information indicating the preference of the user of a display terminal is obtained at a server, and the content presently being viewed and the other content are received and synchronized with the display time in the display terminal or preliminarily separately received, and preference matching is respectively obtained by assessing correlation of the content presently being viewed and the other content with the user preference information based on a predetermined analysis method. When the degree of preference becomes higher for the other content than the degree of preference for the content presently being viewed on the display terminal, recommended content information identifying the content as the recommended content is sent to the display terminal.
