The method involves measuring position change of a point (8) of a tower-like structure i.e. wind power plant (1), and/or a foundation component (2) e.g. thrust bearing, of the structure relative to an associated point (11) of a foundation (3). Position change of the structure is determined from the position change of the point of the structure and/or component relative to the associated point that lies within the structure. A measuring arm (9) is supported at the point of the structure and/or component by a clearance-free ball joint (10).
