<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a piezoelectric material comprising polyvinylidene fluoride wherein contraction resulting from extension is minimized, and to provide a piezoelectric sensor using the piezoelectric material. <P>SOLUTION: The piezoelectric material is obtained by subjecting vinylidene fluoride polymer having a nonpolar α-type crystal structure to additive-free non-stretched polarization. Since it is non-stretched, a piezoelectric material where contraction resulting from extension is minimized, and a piezoelectric sensor using the piezoelectric material can be obtained. The piezoelectric material has an electric field strength of 200-600 MV/m during polarization, and the polarized polymer includes a polar α-type crystal structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
