<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight unit, an illumination device, and display device capable of local dimming control while achieving high contrast. <P>SOLUTION: A light guide plate 100 is constructed: by preparing a plurality of optical members 110, 120, each of which has a plate-like shape, of which the each one main surface 111, 121 is partitioned into a plurality of regions, wherein at least one of the regions is made to be an emergence area from the main surface 111, 112 side of which light emerges when light is made incident from the side face thereof, and remaining regions are made to be non-emergence areas from the main surface 111, 112 side of which the light does not emerge even when light is made incident from the side face thereof; and by laminating the optical members 110, 120 with a relation in which the non-emergence areas of the one optical member 110 overlap with the emergence areas of the other optical member 120. The local dimming control is conducted by arranging light sources 12 on the side faces of the respective optical members 110, 120 of the light guide plate 100, and adjusting and lighting the respective light sources 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
